The founder of the company Late Sh. Bishamber Nath Sabharwal had Established the company in 1974. New Power industries made it's start in the year 1965 at Mandi Gobindgarh, Punjab under the banner of Power Battery, firm named M/s Bishamber Nath & Son.
The first brands to be introduced were Power & spark. Both o these brands were very successful and had been sold in the market very successfully. These after Sh. Ashwani Kumar Sabharwal did hold this company. During that period the company had grown from strength to strength by upgrading its quality adding to rage of products.
In 1977, A new unit started under the title Sabharwal Metal Works in Mandi Gobindgarh, Rotary Furnace had been launched in Punjab & Haryana for the first time and only three factories of lead Melting unit were running in the Punjab during this period.
In 1982, Sabharwal Metal Works introduced a New Plant Oxide Mill (Ball Mill & Refinery Pots.
The year 1996, Proved to be the turning Point when Power Batteries dissolved M/s Ashwani Kumar Sabharwal & Sons was started in Mandi Gobindgarh. Some New Brands were introduced, New Power Plus, Power Golden, B.N. Power & A.S. Lazar which were high lightly of time because of its unmatched quality and Reliability. Ever Since its launch Power Golden & A.S. Lazar Brands has proved to a tremendous success and is still the largest selling products amongst our vast rage of products.
By 1998, the name Power Golden had gained so much recognition that the company. New Power Industries was started and all operations Relating to the Power Golden brands of batteries was brought under this banner.
In 1998, New Power Industries start a New plant and to go high-tech and setup a unit for manifestly lead & lead Sub-Oxide in a latest New Plants. All Plants were free of Pollution.
In 2002, New Power Industries get approval from PPCB & HWM. We go authorization for lead, Lead-oxide sub-oxide, Battery Plants, Battery Parts & Batteries
